Regarding the news on the press conference of Mr Seyed Mehdi Nabizadeh, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New Delhi, on February 7, it is hereby stated that his remarks regarding payment of a part of the Indian oil imports from Iran in the form of Indian Rupee were not reported correctly. He had not mentioned the exact figure and percentage of money which is to be paid in the form of Indian Rupee, and had only said that the two countries have agreed that a part of the payment should be made in the form of Indian Rupee.

Simple logic

The article “Playing ‘God' with spectrum” ( Business Line , February 6) is very relevant in the present time, when the ruling set-up finds the ‘first-come, first-served' policy employed by the erstwhile NDA government to offer spectrum to companies as a very convenient rod to beat the NDA with. The present government needs to examine the mobile service environment at that time, with the few companies present finding it hard to provide services, what with little popularity of the service and cost of providing it at affordable rates.
