With Diwali just around the corner, there are discounts and gifts aplenty. Here's a look at the various incentives this Diwali.
Cheaper gold
If zooming gold prices have kept you away so far, here's a chance! With Diwali being a good day to buy gold, a handful of banks are offering discounts on gold coins. Bank of Baroda is offering a one per cent discount for non-customers while customers and bulk purchases can get up to two per cent off. Axis Bank's discounts apply on gold mohurs weighing at least 10 grams, with the offer valid up to October 29. Bank of India and Oriental Bank of Commerce are other banks with discounts on gold. If its jewellery that is on your mind this Diwali, make the most of Tanishq's offer of a flat 20 per cent off on diamond jewellery purchases of over Rs 2 lakh. Jewellery from Gili, Nakshatra, D'Damas, Asmi and Shuddhi also carry discounts based on quantum of purchase.
Benevolent banks
Loans have just become a lot more attractive. Bank of Baroda is waiving processing charges and providing a concession on interest rates for car and home loans for a limited period. ICICI Bank has an all-encompassing list of offers ranging from discounts on products purchased to travel bookings using ICICI Bank cards. Using internet banking to rack up purchases could also win you gifts.
It's pouring discounts!
Can consumer goods be far behind? LG, Samsung, Whirlpool and Toshiba have an assured gift scheme on purchases. Panasonic is giving discounts on a range of products. Lifestyle has offers on most of its product lines ranging from cosmetics to furniture.@ Home is giving discounts of up to 15 per cent on select furniture. You could also shop online through Flipkart or Reliance Digital for steep discounts on products including televisions, refrigerators, cameras, mobile phones, books and music.
Affordable cars
Car manufacturers are going all out to push their sales up this season. Fiat's Linea and Punto carry discounts of up to Rs 130,000 and Rs 90,000 respectively. Buying a Ford Fiesta before the month's end will allow you an exchange bonus, free insurance and accessories up to Rs 50,000. Toyota is offering gifts, discounts on labour and paint jobs, accessories, car-care solutions and a free safety check up till November 10.
DTH offers join the queue
Tata Sky is tempting you to switch to high-definition by offering a two-month gold pack free. A new Reliance Digital connection will allow you to get all channels free for a month. Existing customers of the operator can now earn reward points for spends and save up to 60 per cent if they want to move to high-definition. Airtel Digital too has exclusive offers for new subscribers for a limited period while existing customers recharging online will be entitled to a bonus recharge.
