My favourite airport: Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.
What I like about it: The airport is well planned, vast and extensive having interiors with art and graphical designs highlighting Indian culture and making it worth the long walk. The widespread shopping area is a necessary visit to kill time. But, the best part is that the airport has a 4 level in-line baggage system that eliminates the process of X-ray check. This creates a lot more space in the check-in area and passengers do not have to stand in long queues.
What could be improved: Delhi Airport must introduce therapy dogs like the one at Mumbai International airport. The long wait during departures can get overwhelming. The best way to beat the travel blues is in the company of these therapy dogs. Additionally, I think there is so much anxiousness among travellers about the fear of flying, fear of people, fear of cramped spaces that by mere petting or cuddling a therapy dog can make a huge difference. I feel, dog therapy is the best way to feel good on a busy airport full of strangers.
Others airports I like: London’s Heathrow and Singapore’s Changi International Airport. Changi Airport’s amenities never ceases to amaze me.
