Officers at Coal India Ltd on Thursday threatened that they would go on a countrywide dharna on September 24, if the management fails to fulfill their demand for a pay revision and other related issues.
According to P K Singh, Secretary General, Coal Mines Officer’s Association of India (CMOAI), officers of all the subsidiaries of CIL would also go on hunger strike from September 16 to 20, demanding pay revision, performance-related payment and promotion.
The officers would hold a sit-in demonstration on September 13 (Friday) in front of the Coal India office here.
Addressing a press conference, Singh said that the management of CIL and the Ministry of Coal have not been able to “meet the aspirations of officers working in hazardous industry in the remote places”.
