Pune-based Kumar Urban Development Ltd (KUL) has chalked out plans to build a rope bridge at the IT industry hub Hinjewadi on the lines of Mumbai’s Bandra-Worli sea link.
"The company will initially invest Rs 7 crore on the bridge which will connect its Ecoloch township project with IT hub Hinjewadi Phase-I,” Kruti Jain, Director, KUL, said.
Work on the project is set to begin on Gudi Padwa.
Conceived and designed by well-known British engineer and designer Sir Donald Bailey, the 120 m long Bailey suspension bridge across the Mula river will be built by Garden Research Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. KUL is also developing a river side marina and promenade on the lines of Singapore’s Clark Quay.
KUL’s project Ecoloch is coming up on 200 acres, with over 6 million sq ft built-up area in the first phase.
