Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles has partnered with Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) to set up an electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at the airport.
With the tie-up, BIAL will become the first Indian airport to have EV charging infrastructure in the country. The facilities are offered exclusively to Mahindra e2o customers, free of cost with an additional benefit of 20 per cent discount on parking charges.
Chetan Maini, Chief Executive Officer, Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles, said, “Facilitating free EV charging at the airport will help customers to do affordable airport commutes from various parts of the city without any range anxiety. We look forward to working with the government and other entities to create an EV ecosystem for the adoption of zero emission mobility for cleaner and greener cities.”
Bangalore is home to the largest number of electric cars in the country and the most EV friendly market with its significant charging infrastructure. While 95 per cent of the charging is done at home, Mahindra Reva has installed over 100 charge points at convenient locations across the city. All the charging stations are strategically located and customers will have access to at least one every 5 km.
