@home, the mega home store by Nilkamal Ltd, is planning to open three more stores in Kerala in the next six months and will be looking for more opportunities to expand.

Mr Manish Parekh, Executive Director, Nilkamal Ltd said that the Kerala market offers good potential for the company's product as the people have a fine taste for home décor. Mr Parekh, who was here in connection with the opening of the company's first store in Kerala, said that @home store will facilitate the consumers with benefits such as wide product ranges, quality products, home décor ideas and easy finance options as Kochi is one of the fastest growing residential markets in the State.

@home Kochi is set up on a floor area of 20,500 sq ft with an investment of Rs 3 crore. Currently, 17 @home stores are spread across 13 cities in India covering a total retail space of 2.68 lakh sq ft carpet area. Mr Thomas Johan, Senior General Manager, Retail Operations said that the company has a leadership position in South India with stores in Coimbatore, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The company plans to open two more stores in the South within the next few months.

The store's furniture range includes living room, bedroom and dining room sets and a wide range of Knick-Knack utility furniture. The accessories range includes candles, clocks, paintings, picture frames, ornamental flowers, and cutlery, among others.

The company posted a turnover of Rs 190 crore in the 2010-11 fiscal, a growth of 40 per cent compared to the previous fiscal. The retail division hopes to achieve a 20-25 per cent growth of same store sales for the FY 2011-12, he added.
