Ramco Cement has indicated its interest in setting up of a cement factory at Kilimigundla village in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh.
A delegation headed by Ramco Vice Chairman P.R. Venkata Ramaraja called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chanadrababu Naidu and indicated its interest to set up a cement plant with an investment outlay of Rs 1500 crore.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, the Ramco team also indicated that the total investment in the cement plant and related infrastructure could go up to Rs 3000 crore, as it requires a rail line of about 20 km to facilitate transport.
The Ramco team requested the State Chief Minister to provide necessary land to develop the plant and also facilitate necessary clearances to develop the rail line as this would be useful for other projects in the area.
The Chief Minister assured them of the State Government support and said he would take up the matter of rail link with the Centre for necessary support and clearances.
Meanwhile, the Ramco indicated that a new facility set up near Visakhapatnam would also be ready for commissioning by October 15 this year.
