The India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) has decided not to participate in the strike called by a section of the jewellery industry on Wednesday. The strike was called by a few associations against the Government’s policy of making it mandatory for declaring PAN details on jewellery purchase of over ₹2 lakh. Urging the gem and jewellery industry to have a rethink on the strike call, Mohit Kamboj, President, IBJA, said after many years, the Government is being positive on the gold industry and has removed many barriers, including the 80:20 restrictions and other such policies that were implemented by the previous government.
