Trade unions to protest liberalisation policies

Several trade unions across the country would come together soon to fight the policies of globalisation, liberalisation and privatisation being followed by the Centre and various State governments.

Leaders of INTUC, BMS, AITUC, CITU and other organisations told reporters here on Friday that these policies had brought the country to the verge of destruction.

They said the trade unions have decided to unite against the policies being pursued by the Centre and the State governments.

According to leaders, a conference of these organisations would be held here on November 18 to decide on the future course of action.
