As it moves India Leadership Forum out of Mumbai for the first time to hold it in Hyderabad, the National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom) will also host the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) here.

The two events will be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre from February 19 to 21.

This is the first time the IT world congress will be held in India. WCIT is a global organisation of IT industry associations of several countries. It has huge influence over the global information technology industry as it works on policy frameworks and discusses the opportunities and challenges in the field.

Top industry leaders representing several major IT companies gathered here on Monday to discuss the arrangements for the meeting.

Tech Mahindra Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer CP Gurnani said Nasscom will spend about ₹20 crore on the event.

Stating that digital technologies have been radically transforming the IT industry landscape, Gurnani said the WCIT meet will focus on the challenges and opportunities for the stakeholders in a digital world.

“We are expecting at least 20 CEOs from Fortune 500 companies and 100 other top executives. Over 5,000 delegates will attend the conference,” he said.
