A restaurant cash-back app, Zaggle, which benefits customers with cash-back on every bill they pay at food outlets, has been launched at an investment of $2 million.

The Hyderabad-based firm, promoted by serial entrepreneur Phani N Raj, plans to invest $8 million more in the business model. Zaggle has been initially launched for 1,400 outlets in Hyderabad and Pune including restaurants, bars and clubs.

Within six weeks of going Live, Zaggle, which is available on the Android and iOS platforms, has crossed 70,000 downloads. The app doubles up as a directory of restaurants and other food outlets in chosen locations, says Raj, who first launched eYantra, a gifting company.

On how it works, a press release says, after dining at the specified joints, the Zaggle user can click the picture of the bill and upload it on the app. This helps him/ her accrue points that can be redeemed as e-vouchers upon visit to identified brand stores.

The bill has to be uploaded in a one-km radius of the restaurant and within 24 hours of the visit. The cash-back can be redeemed against more than 50 e-vouchers including mobile recharge, movie tickets and more from leading brands such as Flipkart, Amazon, Dominos and Freecharge.

Avinash Godkhindi, CEO & MD, Zaggle, said, “The mobile app is the latest offering from our stable, and fosters the culture of restaurant goers and the group dining experience in times when ordering food online has become the order of the day”.

Zaggle is an online to offline company founded in 2012, transitioning to being a digital payments and analytics company. It focuses on creating, marketing and distributing payment solutions.
