Jeera futures was increased marginally but overall trend was seen negative as spot demand was weak. However, limited buying kept jeera prices steady in spot market. On theNCDEX, jeera September contract gained ₹10 to ₹11,195 a quintal. According to market experts, jeera prices are under pressure as demand was weak in the spot market and buying interest was low. Moreover, adequate supplies from producing regions mainly led to decline in the prices. In Unjha spot market, about 7,000 bags arrived and traded at ₹1,855-2,315 for a maund of 20 kg. At Rajkot APMC, about 500-600 bags arrived and traded at ₹1,848-1,972.
