Tata Power Co charged up the BSE to emerge the top gainer on the bourse in late trading on Friday. At 2.55 pm it was trading at Rs 88.75, up 6.80 per cent at Rs 83.10.

Tata Motors sped up 4.19 per cent to trade at Rs 590. The share had closed the previous session at Rs 566.30.

Bharti Airtel maintained its firm undertone to hold gains of 3.73 per cent at Rs 383.75 as against Rs 369.95 at close on Thursday.

Larsen & Toubro also held firm to trade at Rs 1,705. This represented a gain of 2.52 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 1,663.10.

M&M rode up to hold gains of 2.33 per cent at Rs 1,360.15 as against Rs 1,329.15 at close yesterday.

The market maintained its firm run, propelled by the ECB's bond-buying programme. The Sensex was trading above the 29250-level with gains of over 250 points. The Nifty also held firm above the 8,800 level with gains of over 60 points.
