Auto and banking sector stocks maintained there momentum to stay ahead of the pack near the close on the BSE on Thursday. At 2.40 pm Bajaj Auto remained the top gainer on the bourse, quoting at ₹2,269. This represented a gain of 3.23 per cent on its previous close at ₹2,198.05.
State Bank of India also extended its morning gains to 2.19 per cent at ₹2,466. The stock had ended the previous session at ₹2,413.05.
Sun Pharma rose 1.76 per cent to trade at ₹862.05. The stock had ended yesterday’s session at ₹847.10.
Axis Bank inched up further to trade at ₹400.30. This represented a gain of 1.59 per cent on its overnight close of ₹394.05.
HDFC Bank gained 1.33 per cent to trade at ₹831.50 as against ₹820.55 at the close on Wednesday.
