Cement majors UltraTech Cement and Ambuja Cement consolidated their gains on the NSE by close on Monday. At 3.15 pm UltraTech Cement was quoting at ₹2,222.95 as against ₹2,150.20 at close on Friday. This represented a gain of 3.38 per cent.
Ambuja Cement was trading at ₹209.55 as against ₹203.35 at close last week. This was a gain of 3.05 per cent.
Sun Pharma made further gains following its morning announcement that it would take over Ranbaxy in a $4-billion deal. The pharma stock was quoting at ₹588.85 as against ₹571.80 at close last week, representing a gain of 2.98 per cent.
NMDC surged 2.53 per cent to trade at ₹143.95 as against ₹140.40 at close last week.
Reflecting its strong run on the BSE, Sesa Sterlite rode up 2.50 per cent by close on the NSE. It was quoting at ₹194.85 as against ₹190.10 at close last week.
