Private equity investments in India decreased 74 per cent from the previous quarter to $1 billion in the October to December quarter, according to PwC's MoneyTree India Report with data provided by Venture Intelligence.
In the July to September period of 2012, private equity investments in India totalled $3.8 billion and in the October to December quarter of 2011, PE investments were at $1.49 billion.
The lower investments were a result of the risk aversion of investors to sectors such as IT, ITeS, healthcare and life sciences, manufacturing and BFSI.
