Tata Steel jumped 3.6 per cent to quote at Rs 355.50 near the close on the BSE on Wednesday. It had closed the previous session at Rs 343.15.
Tata Motors also made rapid gains to trade at Rs 356.55 near the close. This represented a 3.08 per cent on Tuesday's close of Rs 345.90.
GAIL (India) was trading at Rs 364.20 as against Rs 354.50 at close yesterday. This was a gain of 2.74 per cent.
Mahindra & Mahindra made further ground by the close to quote at Rs 876, up 2.54 per cent on Tuesday's close of Rs 854.30.
Coal India was up 2.45 per cent at Rs 255.30. It had closed the previous session at Rs 249.20.
