Even as bankers will enjoy a four-day long weekend in many States beginning March 24, they are hoping that alternative channels such as ATMs, Point-of-Sale terminals, internet and mobile banking, and business correspondents will serve their customers well.
While banks will be closed for Holi (March 24) in some States, they are shut across the country for Good Friday (March 25). March 26, being a fourth Saturday, will be a holiday. A bank official said ATMs will be loaded with extra cash to take care of the rush.
As the string of holidays comes in the run-up to the financial year closing, it may not be surprising to see some bankers at workalbeit behind shutters.
