The salaries of nurses, pharmacists and lab technicians – who are working on contract basis under NRHM (National Rural Health Mission) in Karnataka -- will be increased, according to the Karnataka Health Minister, UT Khader.
Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, he said that several nurses, pharmacists, lab technicians etc, are working on contract basis under NRHM with a salary of around ₹7,000 a month.
The State Government has sent a project implementation plan (PIP) to the Central Government seeking its approval for the proposal to increase the remuneration of these health professionals. Once approved, they will get a minimum salary of ₹10,000 a month, he said.
