A major fire broke out in the New Delhi-bound Rajdhani Express near Daramtul Railway Station in Morigaon district of Assam early this morning.
No casualty has been reported so far. At around 4.30 a.m., a fire broke out in the kitchen and engulfed the train. The train was then halted at Dharamtul Station.
According to police and railway sources, trains on the Guwahation and Lumding railway track were stopped for three hours. Fire tenders fought for two hours to douse the flame.
They said that the railway track was cleared at 8 a.m. after the fire was completely doused but the train was still in the station. A senior railway official has rushed to the spot.
