The Maharashtra Economic Survey has said that the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) for 2016-17 is expected to grow by 9.4 per cent over the previous year.

The Survey was tabled in the Assembly on Friday.

It pointed out that since August 1991 to November 2016, over 19,000 industrial proposals with proposed investment of ₹11,37,783 crore were approved. Of these, 8,664 projects (44.6 per cent) with proposed investment of ₹2,69,814 crore (23.7 per cent) were commissioned.

Up to September 2015, about 2.44 lakh micro, small and medium enterprises were functioning in the State with an investment of ₹56,552 crore and 29.2 lakh employment, the Survey said.
