Nestaway, a managed home rentals network start-up, has expanded its services by offering rental services for families.

The company makes rentals swift and easy through online and mobile-app. After rolling out its services in Bengaluru, NCR, Pune and Hyderabad, offering home rentals for singles and professionals through a tie-up with home owners, the start-up firm is now offering services to families.

Thus far, within a short span, the company has managed to service more than 2,000 owners and 10,000-plus tenants. Nestaway is now in the process of finalising plans to enter the larger metros of Mumbai and Chennai, according to Amarendra Sahu, Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Nestaway.

The company has also announced the launch of the ‘Family Rentals’ option across these locations.

Nestaway turns unbranded, unfurnished houses into fully furnished and managed apartments and provides them at affordable prices to verified tenants. Citing an example of a two bedroom semi-furnished home in Hyderabad, which fetches a rent of Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,000, he said, “If it is furnished, it will fetch Rs 30,000 as we rent it out to four individual users at Rs 7,500 per bed. We in turn get part of the rent.”

With housing for migrant bachelors/ singles and families in a city like Hyderabad becoming difficult due to lack of trust, this model seeks to help both the owners and tenants.

The start-up has so far raised $14 million including seed funding of $1.5 million in January 2015 from IDG Ventures, $10.5 million from Tiger Global and $2 million from Flipkart, the latter two in June 2015. Ratan Tata also invested in the company recently.
