AKG, which is into manufacture of coolers and heat exchangers, kicked started its operations in Coimbatore. This German company, which started operations in India in 2008 by setting up an assembly shop and sales office at Gurgaon, invested in Coimbatore with the idea of establishing its manufacturing plant here.
AKG India Private Ltd has a greenfield facility at Solavampalayam village on Pollachi Road. The Group’s Owner Director Hartwig Pietzcker told Business Line that the group has invested around €6 million on this facility so far. “We plan to produce one lakh coolers in India in the next five years. Our vision is to establish a fully integrated plant here,” he said. Peter Friedrich, Managing Director, AKG Thermotechnik International GmbH & Co, said the company is targeting a turnover of €25 million in five years.
