The All India Biotech Association – Southern Chapter (AIBA-SC) has come out strongly in favour of the Indian Patents Office order in favour of Natco Pharma Ltd.
In a statement, Dr B.S. Bajaj, Chairman of the Association said: “Bayer has no ground to challenge the order issued by the Patent Controller of India since it is in the interest of 1.2 billion Indian people and in accordance with the TRIPS agreement provision for compulsory license signed by our country”.
The association has criticised Bayer for not agreeing to the “fair decision”.
