Nilkamal Ltd will invest Rs 50 crore during this fiscal to ramp up production of mattresses, a new line it recently launched.
“We will have four different mattress production facilities operational by the next fiscal,” Mr Manish Parekh, Executive Director, Nilkamal, said. The company now has factories in Silvassa and Hosur, and will put up two more, one in Bengal, and the other at a location in North India, he said.
Nilkamal will also invest in its retail business. While launching its 18th @home store in Pune, and the third in the city, Mr Parekh said three more stores would be launched at Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai during FY12. The format has also been modified to include kitchen utilities and knick-knacks in some stores, while the average floor space has also been increased from 10,000 sq ft to 16,000 sq ft, he said, adding that the retailing business had become EBITDA positive.
