Tuticorin-based Sterlite Copper has bagged the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) appreciation award for its outstanding contribution in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
R. Rajasekarapandy, Head – CSR and Suganthi Chelladurai, Associate Manager – CSR, received the award from Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India, in the CSR Summit-cum-Excellence Awards 2012-13 held at New Delhi, recently.
The award is a recognition of Sterlite’s community welfare programmes which takes ownership of several aspects such as health, education, women empowerment, livelihood and rural infrastructure in Thoothukudi, said the company press release.
