Global sportswear major Adidas decided on Tuesday to extend its partnership with Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma as its brand ambassador. The ace batsman has been associated with the company since 2013 and has been the face of Adidas India.
He recently became the third fastest batsman —along with former India skipper Sourav Ganguly—to have completed 8,000 runs in one-day-international (ODI) cricket.
As a strategy the company has been focusing on associating with young talent and in recent times has signed up sports stars such as Hima Das, Manpreet Singh, and Swapna Barman as its brand ambassadors.
In a statement, Sharad Singla, Director, Brand Marketing, Adidas India said, “At Adidas, we believe through sport, we have the power to change lives, and our association with Rohit will craft new journeys for youth to look upto.”
