NYSE listed AO Smith has launched its green series of Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purifiers.
The $2.64-billion company claims that this new technology will save two times more water than any other RO water purifier as the new Green RO water purifier uses breakthrough Advanced Recovery Technology (ART).
The purifier comes with a one-year warranty including filters and RO membrane. It’s also backed by AO Smith’s service, which includes one-hour response, one-day resolution and one-time fix, company officials said. The water purifiers are priced in the range of Rs 20,000- 25,000.
While there is stiff competition in the water purifier segment in the industry, A O Smith believes that its services, technology and quality will drive growth, according to Parag Kulkarni, Managing Director of A. O. Smith India Water Products.
The company claims that it is one of the top three players in the storage water heaters category in retail sales with high double-digit market share. "We’re expecting strong double-digit growth in the coming years and our share of revenue from water purification to our overall revenue would certainly increase” adds Kulkarni. The water purifiers market in India is pegged at about Rs. 3,000 crore and it is growing in double digits.
