Berggruen Hotels, the parent company of Keys Hotels, has appointed Vijay Sethi as the company’s new Chief Operating Officer. In a career spanning 28 years, Sethi has worked in all four verticals of hospitality — hotels, airlines, travel and tourism and healthcare.
Before joining Berggruen Hotels, he was associated with Thomas Cook India as Senior Vice-President and Head - Tour Management and Customer Service. He has also been associated with The Intercontinental Hotel, The Leela Kempinski Hotel, Jet Airways and the Asian Heart Institute in various capacities.
Keys Hotels, the chain of mid-market hotels, resorts and apartments, was launched by Berggruen Hotels in 2007 and founded by Sanjay Sethi and his team of hotel professionals. The business is funded by Berggruen Holdings, a New York-headquartered proprietary fund.
It has a portfolio of 31 hotels, of which 12 are in operation with an inventory of over 1,200 rooms, while 19 properties are in various stages of development. Keys Hotels currently operate its own hotels in Thiruvananthapuram, Ludhiana, Bangalore and Pune and operates hotels for owner partners in Mahabaleshwar, Chennai, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Goa and Pune.
