Extending its losses for the fourth session in a row, telecom giant Bharti airtel on Tuesday plunged by 1.24 per cent on the BSE, ahead of its third quarter earnings to be announced tomorrow.
Shares of Bharti airtel resumed trading on an upbeat note, but the fag-end buying amid the weak broader market saw the counter shedding 1.24 per cent to close at Rs 314.60 on the BSE.
The scrip has plummeted by 6.6 per cent in the last four trading sessions.
The shares witnessed a similar trend on the National Stock Exchange and declined by 2.66 per cent to close at Rs 310.50.
Analysts feel that the company’s December quarter earnings should meet the street expectations and the fall in the counter is just in line with the weakness in the broader gauge Sensex, which tumbled by 305.54 points to close at 18,022.22.
