The Jharkhand State Khadi and Cottage Industry Board, one of the profit-making Khadi boards in the country, has proposed to honour Team India Captain, Mahender Singh Dhoni, with ‘Khadi Ratna’ for leading the country to win the World Cup after 28 years.
The chairman of the board, Mr Jainandu, told newsmen here today that the local lad had made the country and Jharkhand proud by winning the coveted trophy.
“We will recommend our proposal to the Central Khadi Board and if it is accepted, we will honour Dhoni at a function in Ranchi,” he said.
Mr Jainandu said the Jharkhand Khadi Board would also request Dhoni to promote Khadi products, including the silk products, which have demand in the international market.
