Hyundai on Wednesday has announced the name of its all-new connected sports utility vehicle (SUV) -- Venue -- to be launched soon.
The new SUV name references a ‘place’ where people want to be seen, or in this case, inside the vehicle, it said.
Code named QXi earlier, the sub four-metre SUV will be launched in mid-May in India, and its price is expected to start at around Rs.8 lakh (ex-showroom).
"The Venue symbolises a third space, which is trendy, unique, stylish and perfect for Hyundai’s newest connected SUV. Hyundai Venue will create quality time and ease of life in the third life space of customers by always being connected while they are on the go," the company said.
Hyundai’s naming theme for SUVs has typically been a city or place. Venue embodies the characteristics of ‘the place to be – the third Sapce’, en route to the final destination, wherever that may be, it added.
The new SUV from the Hyundai's stable will be competing with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon.
