New Delhi, May 10 (PTI) Drug major Lupin today launched a calcium product for women, tapping into the country’s fast growing OTC market which is led by supplements.
Corcal Bone and Beauty has been introduced under the company’s consumer healthcare division, Lupin Ltd said in a statement.
With the launch, Lupin Life (consumer healthcare division), aims to develop its nascent women’s segment, it said.
“Women’s health is a key focus area for us and nutrition-linked conditions are widely prevalent amongst women in India,” Lupin Managing Director Nilesh Gupta said.
The Indian over the counter (OTC) market was estimated to be around Rs 18,862 crore in 2016 and is expected to grow to Rs 44,100 crore by 2026.
The vitamins, minerals and supplements category is the largest in the OTC space.
Shares of Lupin ended 0.83 per cent down at Rs 756 on BSE.
