Marking its entry into Kerala, McDonald’s has opened its first restaurant in Kochi at Lulu Mall.
This is the 64th restaurant in South India, said Amit Jatia, vice-chairman, Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt Ltd, a master franchisee for west and south India operations of McDonald’s Restaurants.
The company plans to open one more outlet in the city shortly, he added.
Jatia said the company’s iconic ‘Filet-O-Fish’ and the customers’ favourite Piri-Piri spice were sourced from suppliers here.
The new restaurant’s dining area covers 4,140 sq ft that can seat 207 guests. It has separate vegetarian and non-vegetarian preparation areas in the kitchen.
There are plans to introduce the company’s breakfast menu the McMuffin Meal, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian soon.
