Process machinery manufacturer Praj Industries plans to invest Rs 150 crore in a pilot ethanol plant in Maharashtra . It will produce 28,000 litres of ethanol a day.
It will be a cellulosic ethanol plant, which will use 100 tonnes of biomasss derived from agricultural wastes such as corn stover, bagasse and other agriculture waste. Praj has roped in Viraj Alcohols and Allied Industries Ltd an ethanol producer for the project.
