Imaging products and solutions company Ricoh India Ltd has announced plans to invest up to ₹500 crore in expansion and adding new products and services.

Part of the diversified $18.5 billion turnover Japanese major Ricoh has launched a fully integrated cloud-enabled healthcare solution named ‘Picasso’ which enables easy portability of medical data.

The new solution from Ricoh will not only provide access of medical images to patients and clinicians but also reduce cost of providing medical care through hosted services. Manoj Kumar, Managing Director and CEO, Ricoh India, said: “The company has been growing at a compounded annual growth rate of about 60 per cent over the last few years. It closed the last financial year ended March 31, 2015, with a turnover of ₹1,637 crore, and we expect to continue this trend.”

The investments to be made would be through internal accruals. The company had also infused ₹200 crore through non-convertible debentures from the parent last year, he said.

Referring to Picasso, a web-based solution, he said it offers a wide range of benefits to patients, radiologists, consultants and hospitals.

Ricoh describes Picasso as patient is central to this advanced solution and service offering.

The solution is also seen to improve efficiency and minimise the cost of clinical imaging providing remote access to doctors.

In addition to the physician and the radiologist, this solution provides anytime-anywhere access to medical images to the patient as well, enabling them to access images on any mobile device such as tablets, cellphone or laptops.

To provide these services, Ricoh integrates various solutions ranging from imaging to IT Services and communication systems.

This innovative solution was showcased as the part of Ricoh 360 degree experience held in Hyderabad.

The company earlier this year had bagged a prestigious ₹1,370 crore multi-year contract from the Department of Posts for services in 1,29,000 rural offices.

With India planning to invest up to ₹20,000 crore in the digital India campaign, a number of opportunities are likely to unfold where Ricoh is aiming to work as a partner, he said.
