The Four Points — a five-star deluxe business class hotel set up by Sheraton group — has launched operations here.
It is located in the Uplands close to Waltair main road with a built-up area of 1.75 lakh square feet and covered parking area of 75,000 sf ft, rich interiors and furniture. Mr D.N. Upasni of Upasni Design Cell, Mumbai, is the architect for the hotel with eight floors.
The interiors are done by Ritu Bhatia of PID, Singapore. An amount of Rs 100 crore has been invested on the structure and the interiors. The project has been taken up with a tripartite agreement. The owner is the local entrepreneur, Mr Sarat Kumar Reddy. The Four Points by Sheraton is managed by JHM Interstate. JHM is an American-based owner and manager of several luxury hotels. Interstate, an American firm, is a major hotel management company in the world.
Of the 126 furnished rooms and suites designed to take care of the needs of business class travellers, 78 have been thrown open to the guests. The other rooms, which are getting furnished, will be ready by the time the hotel goes for a commercial launch by the end of next month.
This is the third Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in India after Jaipur and Pune. The group has plans to launch its hotels in other cities as well. “We are very happy to launch the first internationally branded hotel in Visakhapatnam. We are confident of providing top-class service to our esteemed guests,” Mr Patanjali Sharma, General Manager Four Points, said.
The hotel will have rooms spread over five floors in three categories. On the sixth floor, Panache, the specialty restaurant, will be located.
It will have Waves, a lounge bar. “We wish to serve the finest selection of beers and the best brews in the world,” says Mr Anupam Tiwary, Food and Beverages Manager.
