T.V. Narendran will be the next Managing Director of Tata Steel.
He will take over from H.M. Nerurkar, who retires on October 31.
Narendran is currently Vice-President (Safety and Flat products).
An MBA from IIM Calcutta (1988), Narendran will be MD-designate, India and South-East Asia, and also join the company’s board as additional director until Nerurkar’s retirement. Simultaneously, the board of Tata Steel also announced the appointment of Koushik Chatterjee, ED and CFO, as Group Executive Director (Finance and Corporate).
Besides Narendran and Chatterjee, Karl Koehler, MD and CEO of Tata Steel Europe, will report to Chairman Cyrus Mistry from November 1.
“The new leadership will be responsible for defining the overall direction and strategy for Tata Steel across both its emerging and developed markets,” the company said.
