Automaker VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) on Friday reported a marginal rise in total sales of Eicher branded products at 3,736 units in January 2013.
The company, which is a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, had sold 3,708 units in the same period in 2012.
Domestic sales increased to 3,638 units in January 2013(3,551 units), up 2.45 per cent, VECV said in a statement.
Exports, however, went down by 37.58 per cent during the month under review to 98 units from 157 units.
VECV’s sales of light commercial vehicles in the Indian market fell by 5.72 per cent to 2,458 units (2,607 units).
Heavy commercial vehicle sales increased by 16.41 per cent to 674 units as against 579 units.
