Spot turmeric prices remained stable at the mandis in Erode district even as 60 per cent of the arrivals were sold. “More than 20 traders purchased 2,254 bags of turmeric. Negligible number of quality medium turmeric fetched ₹100 a quintal more than the previous day’s price. Traders were quoting stable price and buying limited stock,” said RKV Ravishankar, President, Erode Turmeric Merchants Association. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association, finger turmeric was sold at ₹5,359-6,429 a quintal, root variety at ₹4,889-6,000. At the Regulated Marketing Committee, finger turmeric fetched ₹4,911-6,255 a quintal, root variety was sold for ₹4,689-5,669.
At the Erode Cooperative Marketing Society, finger turmeric went for ₹5,066-6,559 a quintal, root variety was sold at ₹5,091-5,899. .
