Senior scientist B Krishna Rao has assumed charge as the Director (Agriculture Extension) of Water and Land Management Training and Research Institute(WALAMTARI) on Wednesday.
Prior to this posting, Krishna Rao was working with Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture (CRIDA), an arm of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
He developed several projects in the management of water and land in the backdrop of climate change.
A Post Graduate and Ph.D in agricultural engineering, he started his career at ICAR’s Complex for North-Eastern Region located at Shillong.
“I would focus on developing the institute as a Centre of Excellence for research in land management and conservation of water in the backdrop of climate change,” a statement, quoting him, has said.
