Bihar Government has planned that the farmers belonging to scheduled castes and tribes as also having 5 acres of land will have free electricity for agricultural endeavour.
The State Government has also announced 80 per cent subsidy on all farm machineries for the farmers belonging to these two groups.
According to a CII note, the State Government at the annual agricultural fair -- Agro Bihar 2015, declared these new incentives. The four-day fair, a joint initiative of the State Government and CII, is concluding on Saturday.
The fair was designed to attract investments in agricultural sector, introduction of mechanisation and increase production.
Agro Bihar is now the largest agricultural machinery exhibition of the region. This year, more than 100 exhibitors participated at the event. On a 25,000 sq m exhibition area, live demonstration of farm equipment was the key attraction. Some 2 lakh farmers’ footfalls were estimated this year.
