Spot turmeric prices ruled stable at Erode markets on Thursday. “Traders were keen on buying quality turmeric for their orders as there was just one more month for the completion of turmeric season. The turmeric farmers also brought good quality produce. The buyers purchased good number of bags at a higher price,” said Krishnamurthy, a trader. On Thursday, 5,500 bags arrived for sale and on an average 80 per cent stocks were sold. At the Regulated Marketing Committee, the finger variety was sold at ₹6,967-8,419 a quintal; root variety at ₹6,369-7,440. Of the arrival of 1,134 bags, 1,109 were sold.
