Vijayan Rajes of MSP Plantations in Yercaud has been elected President of the United Planters’ Association of Southern India (UPASI) and N Dharmaraj, Chief Executive and Director of Harrisons Malayalam, Vice-President of the association for the year 2014-15.
The decision was taken at the annual general meeting of the association on Tuesday.
Rajes has been an executive committee member of the association since 2002-03 and served as member of Coffee Board during 1990-93. He has also been the Chairman of Planters’ Association of Tamil Nadu and Shevaroy Planters’ Association.
Dharmaraj, founder Convener of the Golden Leaf India Awards, was a member of Tea Board and currently, is a member of the Tea Council of South India. Besides, he is a Member of the Core Committee of the Tea Board of India.
