The auto industry is like Internet right now which needs to grow a lot, as mobility is the key to development of an economy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said here. Speaking at the Global Mobility Summit - MOVE here, Modi said the automobile sector is also creator of jobs in the country.

Having said that he also said mobility is critical to environment too as it chokes the cities and therefore there needs to be a lot of work done towards cleaner fuel technologies and the government will bring out regulations for that.

"Our cities are on the move, infrastructure is on the move, so the reforms are also in the move. India is the fastest emerging start up hub of the world; mobility has been key to the progress of humanity; world is now in the middle of new mobility revolution; mobility is a key driver of economy," he said at the gathering attended by many global leaders from the sector.

"My vision for the future of mobility in India is based on 7 Cs: Common, Connected, Convenient, Congestion-free, Charged, Clean, Cutting-edge," Modi said. Drive sharing should also be the future leading to connected mobility as well, he added.
