For those getting confused in technical and non-technical aspects in migration to the proposed Goods and Services Tax (GST), this Jaipur-based software developer, KDK Softwares (I) Pvt. Ltd has an answer.

The company has launched a national toll-free helpline service to address and resolve GST-related queries from the common traders and business owners.

The toll free helpline number 1800 103 9271 will be available in 6 languages - English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada and Malayalam.

Mohit Bhambani, CEO of KDK Softwares said, “We had run this toll free service for 5 days on trial basis and responded over 1,800 queries of a limited group, mostly CAs. About 34 per cent of query callers consulted on the enrolment process. We have created a built-in capacity of handling 1,500 calls in a day. In next few months we plan to add more regional languages.”

KDK Software has volunteered to set up an infrastructure for the purpose and create a bridge between MSMEs and the governments. The company has roped-in 50 highly trained professionals including CAs, Company Secretaries, Law experts, software engineers and domain experts to tackle the queries from the SMEs and MSMEs.

Registration under GST

The Government has already announced registration of business owners under the new GST regime. Meanwhile, the data shared by the GST portal set up by the government revealed that states like Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra and Bihar have observed poor to average response to this registration drive.

Whereas, states like Gujarat (78.36 per cent), Madhya Pradesh (76.87 per cent), Chhattisgarh (74.49 per cent), Rajasthan (67.13 per cent), West Bengal (60.58 per cent), Chandigarh (53.13 per cent), Jharkhand (56.29 per cent) have witnessed robust response.

In states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh the registration process has begun from January 1, 2017 and will end on January 15, before the start of the second round of registration in March.
