Airports Authority of India (AAI) has identified around 45 acres in the Kolkata airport vicinity for commercial development that would include a budget hotel.
“We have 45 acres of land and we will develop this for commercial benefit and we would adopt public-private partnership model for the same,” the Kolkata Airport director, Mr B.P. Sharma, said on the sidelines of Bengal Leads.
The airports authority will soon float a tender for the commercial project. “We have appointed IL&FS to do the feasibility study. We expect to get the report by the end of March,” Mr Sharma said.
He said he was looking for a budget hotel with conference room and other facilities that would generate revenue for AAI.
