A new railway line between Sitamarih and Runnisaidpur under East Central Railway (ECR) in Bihar was commissioned on Tuesday. The construction of the 23-km-long stretch, which is part of the 65-km new rail connectivity being executed between Sitamarih and Muzaffarpur, is estimated to have cost Rs 126 crore.
Meanwhile, with the completion of gauge conversion on the 29-km stretch between Sitamarih and Bairagania, also under ECR, additional passenger services were launched on the route on Tuesday. The gauge conversion cost an estimated Rs 130 crore, according to ECR sources.
