Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA ), being operated by GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL) is now connected with Washington Dulles International Airport in the United States of America.

Starting on the July 8, 2017, Air India will fly its new flight Air India 104 connecting Washington with Hyderabad via Delhi with three services per week. Washington will be the second city in the United States (US) to be connected with Hyderabad after Chicago.

The US is the largest market for international travel to/from Hyderabad with over 675,000 annual passengers.

Washington has been one of the important destinations along with San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, in the US for which travellers have been seeking convenient travel options to/from Hyderabad.

Hyderabad Airport has handled 15.24 million passengers in FY2016-17, registering a growth of 22 per cent in total passenger traffic and 23 per cent growth in air traffic movement over FY2015-16.

The airport connects 17 international destinations with 15 foreign and 3 Indian carriers and 10 domestic carriers connect Hyderabad with 35 domestic destinations, according to a release.
